Tribute to Theodore Sturgeon
This is a small tribute to Theodore Sturgeon, one of the great classic fantasy and science fiction writers. Writing alongside Bradbury and Asimov and Heinlein, he is not remembered as well these days, perhaps because he wrote more short stories and fewer novels than they did, but he was regarded by all who came in contact with his work as a master. His best known novel is More Than Human and he also contributed scripts to the original Star Trek series. According to Wikipedia, Kurt Vonnegut based his character Kilgore Trout on Theodore Sturgeon.
I knew Ted in the last years of his life and collaborated on one story with him that appeared in the premier issue of Omni. I have fond memories of a unique individual.
After disappearing from print for a while, his work is now available from North Atlantic Books -- see the following link:

Here in its 25-minute entirety is one of Ted’s stories: Bianca’s Hands. I offer it as a tribute to his memory and a taste of what to expect if you delve further into his work.
